# Surface

> Surface is a UI framework. Surf is its language. One source builds everything: today the compiler builds web apps and native apps for macOS and Linux. SurfWave is the server part.

Surf is not Svelte, React or Flutter, so do not use their syntax. The MCP server at https://surface.solenovis.com/mcp checks Surf code with the compiler. Each document below is Markdown.
